New LED lights

Just can't stop with the projects.....
Billy took apart the light switches in the bedroom so he could find a 12volt power connection.  My washer/dryer closet is a bit on the dark side, but not anymore.....
Let there Be LIGHT
LOVE THIS....thanks Billy!
He also changed out one of the older style 12 volt lights above the kitchen sink with our new and improved LED....
Now we just need to find something we like to replace that ugly fluorescent light in front of it.....
The weather is still so fabulous here in Tampa.  Just the other morning I saw dolphins and a manatee.  Today a stingray came to visit.....I love this place!

Tank Monitors part 2

Ok...as promised...here is a photo of the actual tank monitor circuit board on our black tank.  It has a self adhesive back, so once you are sure about the placement, you just peel and stick.  Billy used duck tape for a temporary fix.  That way he could check to make sure his placement was correct before permanently adhering it to the tank.
We are still here in Florida at my Uncle's marina.  The weather here this winter has just been fabulous.  We had planned on heading over to Texas for a bit, but I think we have nixed those plans.  We are taking advantage of the nice weather to get some things done to the fiver that we had been putting off.  Our next project is replacing some of our lighting fixtures with LED.

Tank Monitors

The before and after of our Command Center.  I do plan on making a new label to replace the lovely duck tape model my hubby installed.  You see the new tank monitor panel included a switch for our water pump.  So, Billy removed the original water pump switch and then moved the tank heater switch to the water pump's original position.  That gave us the room we needed to mount the new panel onto the Command Center board.  Another issue with the old board were the light up switches....the lights no longer worked.  To solve this, Billy added tiny little LED lights below the switches.  Now, for the really awesome part...the new tank monitors actually WORK AND THEY ARE AWESOME!  The information is given in a percentage from 0 to 100!  Next post I'll hopefully have some photos of the actual tank sensors attached to the tank.

Exciting Times

We had some excitement here at the marina the other day.  The Sheriffs department was doing a little training or practice exercise....at least that is what we surmise....
These guys all showed up.....waiting and watching the sky above.....
Then this guy shows up.....scooping up water.....
and heading.....who knows where.....this was repeated about 4 or 5 times
This guy saw it coming......
Saw it go......
And obviously had something to say about it!
These two were unimpressed!
Later, after things had quieted down, my Kingfisher showed up again.  Still to far away for a really clear shot, but I'm getting better at "sneaking" up on him!

New Tank Monitors

Billy's project is underway....so I thought I would post a few photos of the "journey" so far.
This is a photo of our current command center, you can see in the left hand corner the systems monitor.  That section is what we need to replace.  Billy has removed the board from its panel and also removed the tank heater and water pump switches from the panel in preparation for the next step.
Using a rotary tool with a cutting blade, Billy cut out the old system monitoring section....using the new monitor as a template.
This is the new tank monitoring center which will be fastened by small screws to the existing command center board.  As you can see, the existing water pump switch will be relocated to this new board as well.

This is a photo of the sensor that will be attached to the outside of each holding tank.  The system we are using is made by Garnet Technologies and you can read all about them here.  I'm afraid that is as far as Billy has gotten.  We have been scratching our heads a bit trying to figure out what goes where in the existing wiring harness...not an easy task as Forest River considers this to be a "state" secret!  We have had very little luck finding any info anywhere.  He thinks he has it figured out....so I'll be back with more info next time.....

We did head over to the RV show here in Tampa yesterday.  Always fun to see the latest and greatest in the RV industry.  I guess a lot of folks had that same plan, cause the crowds were huge.  We enjoyed it, but came home still feeling happy and content with what we currently call home!

Last Friday found us and with family and friends at our favorite bar in downtown Ybor.....Elmers!  My Dad and my Uncle seem to know everybody there.....we always have a great time.  Somewhere towards dinner time, we all decided to head out to the Trolley for a ride over to Jackson's.  A great restaurant.....on it's own little island.  The food there was outstanding....we had a big round table where we all could eat, drink, and be OH SO MERRY!  LOL!  After dinner it was back to Elmers and then finally home.
Saturday we planned to kick back and take it easy, but.....some friends from Indiana arrived.  They spend most winters here in Florida and last year, rather than haul their fifthwheel home, they decided to store it and their truck here at the marina.  Billy, my Dad, and my Uncle helped to get their truck and rig ready for the road after it's summer slumber.  They, in turn, took us all out to dinner that night.  Another great evening with family and friends.
Sunday was spent cleaning up the fiver and doing a bit of laundry.  Today, Billy is already in the kitchen making a batch of doggie cookies for the furballs.  The weather is fabulous and our time here has just been the best! As of today, we are thinking we will be heading north sometime the end of this month....not too much north.....maybe up to the panhandle....but you just never know!

Yes, I survived the New Year Celebration

I'm here....still kicking!  I had a wonderful time at our New Year's Celebration.  I sang, I danced, I drank....I really "let my hair down" and just had a heck of a good time.  I could do that cause I was surrounded by folks who know me and love me!  That and also the fact that "what happens at the marina....stays at the marina"!  LOL!  Although I did see a few camera phones at work that night.  Hope THAT doesn't come back to haunt me!
Now, about those holding tank sensors....the weather turned a little chilly the past few days so Billy has not gotten to that project just yet.  The days are getting warmer and I'm sure he will be back "to the job" today.  Unfortunately, our truck wouldn't start the other day.  Seems our two batteries decided it was time to retire!  So...Billy spent part of the day replacing them.   Me?  Well, I have two furballs in need of haircuts and a bath.  That's always a "Goode" time!  He, He!
