High Winds, Freezing Temps

We did survive the high winds last night....everything seems intact including us and the furballs.  What a night.....the winds were a howling and dust was blowing.  We knew the temps were predicted to drop below freezing so Billy unhooked the water connection.....woke up to a chilly 32 degrees.  You bet, I put my long underware on before I ventured out with the furballs for their morning stroll.  This am the wind is still blowing...not as bad....but combine it with the low temps and well...let's just say that I won't be sorry to leave Santa Fe when we head out tomorrow.  To top it all off....I seem to have caught a cold!  Came down with the sniffles and aches yesterday.  I have been healthy all winter....really irritates me that I'm sick now.  Ah well, this too shall pass and I have some good drugs to ease the symptoms.   All in all our trip to Santa Fe has been a bust....and I don't know if I ever wanna come back!  We will be heading up to Colorado Springs tomorrow.  I'm ready to put Santa Fe in my rear view mirror!

Billy and I are into our 4th year of fulltiming.....and I guess we were a little naive in thinking we would never see "cold" weather again.   That has always been our goal, but for the second winter in a row we seemed to be stuck right in the middle of a constant flow of Arctic air.  Yesterday there was snow on the mountain tops surrounding us and today.....well, I had to put on my long johns, sweat pants, ear muffs, socks, dig out my shoes, and 3 yes, 3 sweat shirts just to take the furballs out for their morning walk!  On the upside, the wind had died down and I no longer have to weight myself down with cement blocks to keep both feet on the ground!  According to the weatherman, this cold spell with below normal temps will be sticking around for quite some time....lucky us!   Could be worse, our park host heard from 3 rver's yesterday.  All of them were supposed to be checking in this week and all of them said they would be delayed.....due to snow and ice and road closures.  This morning I was on the computer looking at the rates for the Florida Keys (wishful thinking) and I ran across a park with a live camera feed.  Man, folks are running around in t-shirts and shorts at 9am.  I am so in the wrong place!  Ok, I'll stop whining or maybe not.
A package arrived for me yesterday.....it was the inks epson was shipping me.  Pop those babies in, and Yahoo......nothing.....nothing......nothing!  Called Epson and they are sending me another printer.  Wonder if it will work. 
Oh, I do have some happy news.....My mama's birthday was yesterday.  She turned 70 this year and I'm proud to say she is still one "hot mama"!  
I have also been spending more time at the painting table.....here is an update on the old truck

It is a slow process, but I'm enjoying it!

Today is moving day.....back to my Uncle's Marina in Tampa. Saturday and Sunday here at the park brought the coldest temps we have seen here in Florida. Saturday it never made it out of the 30's and we never made it out of the fiver. We were warm and toasty and only ventured out for the furballs to do their business. Sunday was about the same, but I think the temps reached into the 40's, but the wind was really blowing! We opted for another cozy day inside.

Our on demand hot water heater is still on the fritz so that will be our first order of business.... once we reach the marina. The first place Bill called no longer works on the units. I sure hope we find someone here in the Tampa area that can repair this thing.....I'm really tired of heating water on the stove! Check out here is 11am and I have a lot of things to do.....so have a good one everyone and stay warm....

No, Jenny, they have not worn out their bandannas. We put those on them mainly when we are in travel mode. They just love them, though, you can tell by that extra little prance in their steps.

We are still in Forney Tx and it is so cold. Last night we had sleet and temps dipped into the low 30's. Today is cloudy and still the temps have not risen above 31, but the wind is so nasty it feels even colder. We are all wrapped up in sweatshirts and blankeys. If things don't improve by next Monday, we are outta here. I only paid for one week so we can leave without loosing any lot money.

DH did get steel valve stems put on all the tires yesterday. He feels he got a great price. He got all 7 done for $65.00. The stems themselves ran $8.00 each so that was only $9.00 labor. DH was so impressed with the boys that did the work he gave them a $10.00 tip.

Today I'm working on transferring my files from my old computer to my new one. Then DH will inherit my old computer. It is still a great computer, just didn't have a fast enough processor for some of the photo programs I like to run. He usually just surfs the web so he should be fine.

Finally Indiana

We arrived in Indiana Wednesday afternoon. The temps weren't to bad---high 50's. We spent that first night at the river. Next day, Thursday, we headed into town to the house. It was colder and rain was on the way. We checked out the house and called the water department to get the water turned back on---that took 24 hrs so we went back to the river for one more night. We finally spent Friday night in the house. I have to say at first it felt good to be back in the house, but eventually that wore off when I looked around at all the work we had to do. Not to mention the fact that it is COLD!! We actually saw snow flurries today. Good news is they are predicting 5o's tomorrow---we can only hope! I have to say the dogs are the only ones who are really enjoying the house. They do so love the space to run and play----rediscovering all their old haunts. Didn't take long for the bunnies to realize the furballs were back---Belle had a heyday the other morning chasing them out of the yard. Next, she and Cosmo found a baby bird. No fear, the bird managed to find its way out of our yard in one piece. As to our job of getting the house ready to sell, I did manage to connect with an auctioneer. He is going to come by and take a look at what we have and explain how this all would work. Now, I need to find those cans of paint we bought last year and start that process. Woe is me!
